The Five Thousand Year Leap

Even at my youngest age, I somehow knew where my rights came from,  except as a child, most of my rights rightfully so, came from my parents, but in reality, as an American, our rights come from God.

Today, many belief their rights come from government and that God should be eliminated from our lives, this is far from the truth and this belief in God is what makes us an exceptional country.

It explicitly says in the Declaration of Independence that we are endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights.

It doesn’t get any plainer than that.

That is what makes us an exceptional nation. No other nation has it explained in their constitution, most still believe that their rights come from the government, that very thought makes them servants to their government  and not a free people.

In this country we believe, or should believe that our elected officials are our representatives, they are not our leaders. They are elected to serve us, we don’t serve them.

That is probably what makes it so hard to understand, all through the history of mankind, people have had leaders telling them what to do and what to believe.

The United States is different, although we do have laws, those laws come down from God, and are our natural born rights which no one can take away from us.

It’s hard to erase thousands of years of thinking in just a few generations, the thinking that someone else knows how to run our lives better than we do ourself. It makes each and everyone of us responsible for our actions and as a result, we have no one to blame but ourselves when we create challenges in our lives.

It is only natural to seek the simplest path, but that path of putting someone else in charge of our life eventually leads back to enslavement.

Are We Obeying God’s Law, Or Man’s Law?

It is plainly stated in our Declaration of Independence that We are endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, that among those are life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  

Plainly stated ,  the rule of God overrules the laws of man. The premise of our whole way of life is founded on this principle.  

We have strayed from this, how many of the laws our legislatures have passed in the last ten years would be the laws of God? 

Would God be in favor of the laws or way of thought most follow today? 

I’m not going to go into the sordid details of even the laws themselves, just think about it and see what answer you come up with.

The Politically Controlled Media

Before and during world war two, it is  a well known fact that Adolph Hitler controlled the media, everything the Germans, Poles and many in Europe heard was controlled by Adolph Hitler.

Every piece of information was screened by him and only what served his agenda was allowed to be released to the public.

It was largely antisemitic and mostly untrue, he blamed the Jews for everything regardless if thy had anything to do with it or not.

Lie after lie was told until the general public began to believe every parcel of it, you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth, after a while people fall in line to the lie being told only because it is the perceived truth of the land and they hear nothing to counteract it.

The same is happening today, the politically controlled media  only tells us what fits their socialist political agenda. If the news doesn’t fit what they say or believe to be true, then it is altered or forgotten altogether.

  Even Face book  and Twitter, U tube and many other social media sites follow the same agenda.

Regretfully it is a liberal agenda, often times many well meaning and well spoken conservatives like Dennis Prager and Franklin Graham get censured , not because of hate speech but because their conservative views don’t fit the narrative and the censor is so indoctrinated with liberal views they view another view point as hateful when it is  only a different opinion.

We are slowly falling into line with what the Nazis were doing in the 1930s, we are becoming indoctrinated with only one point of view and we are bombarded with it many times a day, and there is, in many instances no opposing view to compare it with.

People are taking at face value everything they hear on the news without questioning any of it.

This is a very dangerous position to take, people only believe what they heard on the 6 o’clock news and don’t consider as gospel truth , if it has even a morsel of truth.

We need to question everything, and do our own research to discover fact from fiction, even if it contradicts what we believe or have been told.

  Our own inner knowledge and conscience should tell us what is true and what is utter nonsense.

We need to start listening to our inner voice, it is our connection with the God Source and never lies.

Musket Balls and Prayer Gave Us Our Freedom

Aside from our early American patriots burning desire for freedom, the two things that actually gave us freedom were prayer and musket balls.

The founders were all religious or spiritual beings, the only schooling available in those days were church schools, hence they all, in their own way had a belief in God. 

Almost all believed in prayer and prayed daily,  they weren’t perfect people who never did anything wrong , they, just like everyone else made mistakes , but their belief was in God and depended on God to guide them in their daily lives. They didn’t always listen to what God directed them to do, but they believed God would guide them.

They also believed in their right to defend themselves. One of the actions that lead to the American Revolution was when the British tried to confiscate our weapons and gunpowder.  That was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The patriots responded with a passion unheard of up to that period in time. The desire for freedom was so great that many were willing to sacrifice everything they had to achieve freedom from tyranny . 

Soon the Battle of Bunker Hill followed and our quest for freedom began. 

Our citizen army took up arms and despite many struggles and hardships, achieved a freedom unheard of up until that time. 

It is well documented the early patriots belief in a Supreme Being.  There are many  documents to prove the early founders, as well as high ranking government officials since expressed a belief in God. 

George Washington himself prayed daily and publicly displayed his belief in a Supreme Deity. It is because of this belief he was able to survive the many attacks on his life while fighting at the front lines. 

Many “miracles” are attributed to our ability to defeat the strongest military in the world. 

There can be little doubt as to why the founders placed the first and second amendment to the Constitution at the top of our Bill of Rights. 

Without those two rights, we have nothing.

The Lessons of History

 

17-year-old Lepa Radić was a Bosnian Serb who fought with the partisans during WWII but never got to see the Nazis lose the war. In February 1943, Lepa was captured. The Nazis tied a rope around her neck but offered her a way out. All she has to do is reveal her comrades’ and leaders’ identities.
Lepa responded:
“You will know them when they come to avenge me.”

This is why we need history to live on, and the PC brigade to leave it alone. We were what we were, and we are what we are. History helps us become, history helps us evolve, history let’s us never forget. This lady deserves to be remembered, this lady deserves the immortality of history.

Those who tear down the memorials of history are wrong, especially those who want to rid the south of the civil war statues.  We need t remember.

Those who ignore the lessons of history, repeat it.

America’s Self Inflicted Guilt

The first time I encountered self-inflicted American guilt, I was touring the outback of Australia.

We had traveled there to observe, photograph, and document the ways and lives of the Australian Aborigines.

One afternoon a fellow American and an European were talking and the European actually complimented America on our way of life and how good life was in the United States.

In response, the American woman actually made a statement in which she denied feeling good about being an American and living in the United States.

Over the years we Americans have developed a guilt complex about our prosperity.

We tend to forget what we have sacrificed to make our country prosperous and free, we forget how much America has done for the world and our mission to bring freedom to everyone, regardless of race, creed, national origin or gender.

Although we, as Americans aren’t perfect and we haven’t always lived up to the ideals our country was founded on, as a nation  we have done more than any other culture to liberate the masses from the bonds of slavery.

We have fought in many lands in an effort to free people from oppression, and have never claimed any of this land as our own.

Many would argue that we stole the land from the original occupants. The American Indians are also immigrants, they all came from some where else before living in the western hemisphere.

The American Indians were at a disadvantage, they had no domesticated animals , no beasts of burden or the means to advance their civilization until the Europeans introduced this technology and animals into the western hemisphere.

The contact between the two cultures eventually benefited both societies.

Despite all the bloodshed between the two different cultures, we as Americans owe a debt of gratitude to the natives. There were many times our fight for freedom would have stalled if the natives had not intervened to help us.

Many of the elders of the various tribes were wise enough to realize what was to come and thereby aided and assisted our struggle for freedom. 

This has been well documented, even during the American Revolution. 

In the writings of General George Washington, there are many times he tells of advice and assistance he received from the elders of the tribes living in the New England area. He reportedly even had the Iroquois “Spirit Woman” come to him and show him a map of the  present day United States, complete with roads and cities. 

I can’t help but feel it was some sort of divine plan. We were brought together to learn from each other, we have developed the technology to produce a society much better than any that has come before us, if we combine our technology with the American Indians knowledge of nature and Nature’s God.

The Best of the Best (UPS)

May fifteenth, nineteen sixty-seven was an important day in my life. It was the day my seniority officially began at United  Parcel Service.

Although I applied for the position in March during a driving blizzard, by the time I was hired , trained, and began accumulating seniority, two months had eclipsed.

I was born to drive,  I grew up on a farm and I began driving a tractor at an early age and had several years of driving experience before reaching the age of sixteen when I could legally drive on public roads. 

Always striving to drive safely and accident free, with the aid of UPS training, I achieved twenty-six years of accident free safe driving. 

After retirement, I continued to drive professionally for many years in positions that didn’t conflict with my union restrictions.   

One of the most enjoyable positions was driving the Sedona-Phoenix Shuttle , driving clients from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix to Sedona  Arizona, one of the most beautiful areas in the world, and after moving to Florida, for many years I drove people to the various air and cruise ports in the state. 

After nearly seventy years of driving, I am starting to tire a little and no longer desire to drive fifty thousand miles a year. I continue to drive and will always enjoy it, but now it’s all about driving for pleasure, and not as much. 

Growing up on a dairy farm in southeastern Indiana, Gary traveled very little until midlife, when the opportunity became available to him.

Grabbing his camera and a bag full of equipment, he began his vision quest traveling to most areas of the United States and several countries abroad.

Along the way he collected several thousand photographs that he wants to share with everyone.

Gary decided the best way to accomplish his goal was to publish photo documentaries on the various areas of the world he has visited.

What will follow will be several photography books, who knows how many will wind up in his collection.

Do We Want the Truth, Or Do We Want Political Correctness

In these days of political correctness, we often find it hard to discern what the truth is and what really happened at a certain event.

Often times, in order to not offend anyone, the facts are so distorted so that we an no longer decide with a rational mind what actually did happen. The truth gets hidden in the message because people get offended so easily and the press is often reluctant to disclose the details for fear of upsetting someone or facing the cold hard facts of reality. 

What is politically correct has suddenly taken precedence over what is correct and in the best interest of the individual. Being politically correct and worrying about someone’s feelings is more important than the truth or doing what is right. 

Once we become concerned about what is politically correct, we get a watered down version and never really know anything else about it. This leads to misconceptions and often places blame on people who had nothing to do with the event and somethings the heroes become victims. Many times a certain group of people get the blame and attention when in fact that is far from the truth.

There is much emphasis to do things for the common good of society while we slowly lost our rights as individuals, once that idea takes root, the time comes when we will no longer have any individual rights. 

Ayn Rand wrote the following…

“We must learn to reject as total evil the conception that the common good is served by the abolition of individual rights. General happiness cannot be created out of general suffering and self-immolation. The only happy society is one of happy individuals…The power of society must always be limited by the basic, inalienable rights of the individual.”

That is not what our country was founded on, our country was founded on individual rights, individual freedom.

We are being lead into socialism and loss of control of our individual rights. 

Once people stop believing in God, they begin believing in government.

Who Is Right and Who Is Wrong

Politically, it would seem most people lean to the liberal side of politics.

Half the population and almost all the media, which generally control the narrative all lean extremely left.

It is almost physically impossible to get a different view point with out making  a serious effort. Most people don’t even try, they just believe whatever is told them on the evening news. Most on the left don’t even want to discuss it, if one makes an opinion different than theirs, they often come back with the statement they don’t want to argue about it. Immediately shutting off any dialogue.

As a consequence, most of what that is done and believed in today’s world is extremely slanted towards liberal views and policies.

Conservatives are practically shut out of the dialogue and ignored. As a result, many believe they don’t exist or even have a right to be heard.

Many people from the liberal states are leaving and moving to states that have more favorable tax laws and better all around living conditions.

Many from the states with obscene tax and regulations  come to Florida and other states because it is too expensive to live there, and when they come to Florida , they  start doing the same thing over and over that created the problems where they came from. 

The once again begin wanting more government services, control, taxes and everything they tried to get away from,  expecting different results.

Consequentially , it is believed most people would disagree with conservative policies, most of the media,  politicians and general public all agree on liberal ideas, even though those policies are what they are getting away from when they move to less liberal states.

Their liberal ideas are what is being implemented where they came from and obviously aren’t working. 

This all being true, why do they continue to believe this way when they migrate somewhere else?

The definition of stupidity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It is a law of nature, regardless of how many times you do the same thing, you will get the same result.

It only makes sense to me, if something isn’t working for you, you change what you do and try different ideas.

Why would you move from somewhere  because of government policies and try to mold the area you moved to  be like where you came from?

If the conservative plan is to reduce taxes, regulations and as many government controls as possible, and liberal polices of more control, taxes and regulations does’t work, who is right in their thinking?

People can make decisions affecting their lives a lot more sensibly than government can, and these decisions are a lot less costly when people are using their own money than when using  taxpayers money.

You Finally Reach A Point In Time Where You Make A Decision

There comes a point in time when one finally makes a decision to act on your instincts rather than the conventional wisdom of the time.

I had been attending a small gathering of people from a supposedly free thinking open minded church in town.

I had been attending this church for some time and for a while I enjoyed to the  friendship  I found there.

But the church began to change. One of the changes I began to notice was they began slowly to take God out of the service.

The monthly discussions began quite innocently discussing topics many in the church and I agreed with, but after time I began to notice the discussions always followed the same train of thought and generally followed the same particular line of thinking . 

But as with most groups, the tendency is to stay within safe boundaries and not venture from the accepted norm, not discovering any new ideas: even when discussing “new thought”. 

After a while, I thought it was time to move on and delve a little deeper into the various topics we were discussing. I soon discovered there are limits to even “New Thought”.

I soon found my input wasn’t accepted if it didn’t follow the line of thinking of the group, whenever I brought something up a little beyond what everyone else believed, the topic was suddenly changed, or I was cut off in mid sentence.

I don’t mind, and welcome a different opinion, but when I am completely blown off and my views aren’t even considered, that is when I draw the line, it’s time to move on.

I believe in freedom of speech and our right to express our feelings regardless if anyone else agrees with us or not. When someone starts infringing upon that right, I get my dander up real quick.

I also noticed in this group, a lack of faith and maybe even a lack of a belief in God. It seemed many were always afraid of something. 

There was certainly a common belief that the United States was not founded on a belief in God and that our founders and early settlers all believed in God and prayed regularly.

I’m not sure if I will continue to attend these meetings, but I have learned  a lot and if I go back I will continue to learn from those I feel are misinformed, sometimes it is amazing what we can learn from those who disagree with us. 

They can actually think we agree with them ,when we don’t at all, perception is everything. 

And regardless of how open minded they believe they are, they are only open minded when one agrees with them, or don’t step too far out of the box; nothing is going to change that.

Through it all, I have decided I will state my beliefs and stand by them regardless of the opposition, while deciding the correct time to state my opinions. There is a time and place for everything, sometimes direct opposition settles nothing.

We need to keep those of  alike mind close, those who think differently, closer. 

Enough is enough.
