Legal Immigrants

Legal Immigrants

With all the ruckus these days over illegal immigration , I can’t seem to figure out what is wrong with people immigrating here legally? Why do liberals seem to think it is OK for someone to sneak into this country and become a citizen without due process and following the immigration  laws.

This isn’t rocket science, they are law breakers when they sneak in, is there something wrong with punishing some one when they violate the law, isn’t that what we do in America ? America has always been a nation of immigrants, just as every country in the world is,almost every one has immigrated from somewhere. But almost all countries , even third world countries, try to make sure incoming guests are legal. Are we sinking to a fourth world country?

Try sneaking into Mexico and see what happens. I know for a fact that you had better be legal in Australia  or you will be asked to leave. Do the left not see the ramifications of people coming here undocumented? Didn’t they learn anything from 9/11?

I guess I can answer my own question, the only thing the left sees is more voters, by letting them come in uncontested, they feel the illegal immigrant will vote for the left. The rebuttal often is that the conservatives want them because of cheap labor. Some of this may be true, however liberals own just as many if not more businesses as conservatives, and are just as wealthy, so it behooves them to also find so called cheap labor.  The left is supposed to be all for workers rights and increasing the lot of the working stiff, how does that philosophy fit in with paying someone below minimum wage? They are supposed to be about equality, Is that fair to the American worker?

How about being fair to the immigrant who comes here legally and becomes a citizen the old fashioned way, by working for it.

As an example, Francisco came here 5 years ago from Mexico, and spoke no English, in the past five years he has  taught himself English, bussed tables, washed dishes as well as other odd jobs and began working in the electrical trades.

He now has a successful pool repair business , plus he does minor home repair.  Francisco has done it the correct way and by doing so is an asset to the United States . He hasn’t taken any short cuts.

By allowing aliens to come here illegally and stay, we are hitting people like Francisco below the knees. People come here just to have a baby. Some hospitals in our border states have more kids born to illegal aliens than are born to American citizens, who pays for that?

Why should any one even think about coming legally when we allow illegals to stay by granting immigrants amnesty? We tried that in the 1980s, granted amnesty to 3 million people, we now have 12 million. Looks like a step backward to me.

Don’t know about you, but Francisco looks like a better choice for America, he has my business.

Immigration: The Original Wet Backs.

Illegal Immigration

Much has been said and written about our current illegal immigration problem. The problem would be easily solvable if politics and misunderstanding would get out of the way.

Some one said to me the other day, half joking that their family were the original “wetback” since they had immigrated to Canada from Europe, and then crossed the St. Lawrence River into the United States. After thinking about it, I realized she was correct.  We have all immigrated from somewhere, this is true for everyone on the planet. From the beginning of time every individual’s family has immigrated from somewhere else to where they are now.

However the current situation is a lot different for a lot of reasons. In the past, in particular in the case of the United States, most people have immigrated here to improve not only their lives and that of their families, but in the process they improved the lives of everyone else in the country by what they contributed . They worked hard and sacrificed much to not only arrive here safely, but after they were here as well. Life was hard and they demanded nothing from the government but to stay out of their way and give them a chance to create that better life they desired. I’m sure some had ulterior motives, but in most cases that was the desire.

Their lot in life was created by their own hard work and ambition, even though many set backs were encountered, most succeeded in one way or another and made a better life than would have been available in the land they migrated from.

Today, even though many still hold the same hopes, a new perspective has been created. The entitlement society has arrived, many people today, not only people coming to this country, but Americans as well, believe that somebody owes them something, they are entitled to everything people have worked generations for, and they want it now .

Not only that , many are coming here with ulterior motives, they want to destroy our culture and our way of life. Many would like to see us descend into another “Dark Age”. They are angry at the world that could give them so much, if they would only work for it. Instead they want it handed to them on a silver platter, then they could get angry because there isn’t more.

The people that come here to improve themselves and the world around them are always welcome, we welcome you with open arms. You contribute much to our country and yourself.

However, it is because of the other element, the people who would do us harm that the borders need to be secured, the people who come here with noble intentions have nothing to hide and are only harmed by the undesirables who are seaking in. If they had nothing to hide they would come legally.

Illegal Immigration

Unless you are an American Indian , we all came from somewhere else and are thus immigrants. (Even they originally came from somewhere else.)

The difference is, when most of our ancestors  came here from other countries, they endured many hardships, often coming over from Europe and other lands on overcrowded boats, living in squander.

Upon arriving in America, they were grateful to have the opportunity to start a new life, free from tyranny and persecution. Many cleared forest land with nothing but a dull ax, planting crops between stumps until the stumps could be removed. They asked for nothing from the government and would have been insulted if any aid had been given to them.

They endured severe weather, attacks from Indians and many other hardships. neighbor helped neighbor, as they settled in communities and adapted to life in their new world. They adopted to American customs, learned English, went to school and church and were a benefit to society.

My, how times have changed, now far too many  immigrants sneak into our country, bringing drugs and crime with them. If they were coming for the right reasons, why would they have to sneak in?

They come here not to start a new life and contribute to society, but in many cases reap the rewards our land has to offer. No longer do the majority come to blend in, now they come to bring their customs with them, the customs that destroyed their way of life in their home land. They come to receive a handout, and when it is given , they become angry with America for not giving them more. Instead of working their way up the economic ladder, they want everything given to them , they are entitled to it is their way of thinking. They don’t realize how long and hard people have worked to gain the standard of living they have. No doubt not all immigrants who come here fit this profile, but it has become apparent that way too many do.

Many times the first generation immigrants come here and work hard to give their children a better life than was available in their native land. Their children in turn lose all appreciation of what they have , become bitter and join gangs, thereby contributing to violence. This leads me to believe there is something wrong with our educational system, they aren’t being taught good values and traditions , if the schools and other institutions were doing their job, they would  be better citizens.

Americans have spilled much blood and endured many hardships to enjoy the life we have. Most Americans appreciate how fortunate we are as a nation  and are more than willing to share it with the world. However people coming to this country have to realize there is a price to be paid for freedom and economic opportunity.

If the illegal immigrants spent as much time and energy improving their own country as thhey do tearing down ours,They would enjoy the same benefits they do here and improve their county at the same time.

It is time for everyone , including the immigrants who migrate here legally to stand up and support immigration laws that stop the influx of illegal immigrants who not only break the law by coming here in the first place, but continue to be a drag on our society after they arrive.

Let's Stop Illegal Immigration

Written by : Gary Wonning

Let’s Stop Illegal Immigration

460,000 of the approximately 5 million people living in Arizona are Illegal aliens. That is almost 10%. That 10% is responsible for 80% of the crimes committed in Arizona.

Phoenix only ranks behind Mexico City as the city with the most kidnappings in the world. In certain areas of Phoenix , the are no signs or billboards in English.

There are gun fights everyday between people sneaking into the country and their coyotes,(the people responsible for smuggling illegals into the country.) The problem arises because once the individual is smuggled into the country, more money is demanded from the individual, thus violence erupts. Often times in parking lots of legitimate businesses, thus putting law abiding citizens at risk.

Arizona is finally reacting because the federal government won’t do anything. Politicians play on our sympathies and don’t want to make any ethnic groups mad, the politicians are more concerned about getting votes than doing what is right for the country and it’s citizens. This has been a problem for many years. The present administration can’t be blamed for all of the problem although they should shoulder most of the blame because at this moment , they are doing nothing.

If he does react, Obama will only want blanket amnesty, which only makes(on paper only) law abiding citizens out of law breaking illegals. Every American welcomes law abiding immigrants to our country,we were all immigrants at one time or another, we want to share what we have with everyone, however, there are certain elements of society that should not be allowed inside our borders. We have enough law breakers already here, we don’t need any more.

Obama is a U.S. citizen , because his mother was a citizen, but he is not an American ,(there is a difference) he didn’t grow up in this country, he was raised in a home with communist values, thus he knows nothing of our values and heritage.

Politicians want the ethnic vote, what they fail to realize is that many law abiding Mexican , as well as other immigrants, don’t like the illegal problem and would welcome any politician standing up for what is right. The ones invading our country illegally casts a shadow of doubt on all immigrants and makes it harder on the people trying to go by the rules. I have a lot of empathy for immigrants trying to assimilate into our culture, the number of undesirables coming here makes it very hard for them to be accepted.

What people don’t realize is that elected officials who support illegal immigration only enact laws that support this kind of activity, thus over time, only makes the problem worse.

It is kind of amusing, seeing these illegals protesting and shouting they have rights too. The only right they have is to go back  where they came from and re-enter the country the correct , legal way. I was always told that if I didn’t do something right the first time , to do it over, they should do the same. When they are willing to assume the responsibilities of citizenship, then and only then will they will have rights.
