The Mystery of Oak Island

Sell Art Online

Like many, I have been watching the Curse of Oak Island on the History Channel. It is a series that is now in it’s
third season.

It is a story about a mysterious treasure vault buried on Oak Island, located off the coast of Nova Scotia in northeastern Canada. The story line goes that no one knows what if anything is buried at the bottom of the deep pit.

Whoever buried it there boobie trapped it, making it virtually unreachable to anyone who tries.

Many have tried and so far six men have died trying to find the treasure. To date, the explorers have found artifacts from the pirate days of the seventeenth century, evidence of possibly Knights Templars visiting the island, a Spanish coin and recently, evidence that Seafarers from the Roman Empire may have been there.

Theories the treasure may be the Holy Grail, the Ark of  the Covenant, Aztec treasures, and some even surmise pirates such as Blackbeard may have buried his treasure here.

Situated in the North Atlantic as it is, it may have been catch-all for many different seafarers.

The mystery surrounds the fact the pit is over two hundred feet deep and under the current level of the ocean. The mystery not only is about how to uncover it but how did the treasure get there in the first place?

How could whoever buried it been able to dig a hole that far into the ground which is below sea level in the first place?

You can’t just dig a hole in water and expect the water to not fill the hole.  Digging the hole that close to the ocean would make one believe the water would naturally flow in at some point in time.

But maybe there is another explanation. What if when the pit was constructed, it wasn’t below the water level?

History tells us that about twelve thousand years ago, during the ice age, the ocean levels were much lower than they are today. While it is true the ice caps would probably have covered Oak Island, no one knows for sure, there have been underwater cities discovered in other parts of the world that are now over 300 feet below sea level, one off the coast of Scotland for instance.

If that were the case the pit could have been constructed with ease.  Someone who was highly intuitive could have constructed the booby-trapped obstacles to prevent anyone from uncovering the treasure once the oceans rose to their present levels and making it’s discovery nearly impossible.

Once the pit was constructed and the waters rose, many artifacts could have been left there by the following explorers who frequented the area.

Sooner or later the mystery will be solved and the secrets of Oak Island will be revealed, until then, happy speculation.

A journey of spiritual discovery

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race, what happens after death, the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms if they do exist.
There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric sciences claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus, we are each a part of God, thus we are God!

Why Do Men Die First

Why Men Die First

Why do men die first? This is a question that has gone unanswered for centuries, but, now we know. But it requires a bit of explanation. If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat race … you’re a male chauvinist. If you stay home and do the housework … you’re a pansy. If you work too hard … there’s never any time for her. If you don’t work enough … you’re a lazy bum.

If you put a woman on a pedestal and try to protect her from the rat race … you’re a male chauvinist. If you stay home and do the housework … you’re a pansy. If you work too hard … there’s never any time for her. If you don’t work enough … you’re a good-for-nothing bum. If she has a boring repetitive job with low pay … this is exploitation. If you have a boring repetitive job with low pay … you should get off your lazy behind and find something better. If you get a promotion ahead of her … that is favoritism. If she gets a job ahead of you … it’s equal opportunity.

If you mention how nice she looks … it’s sexual harassment. If you keep quiet … it’s male indifference. If you cry … you’re a wimp. If you don’t … you’re an insensitive bastard. If you make a decision without consulting her … you’re a chauvinist.

If she makes a decision without consulting you, she’s a liberated woman. If you ask her to do something she doesn’t enjoy … that’s domination. If she asks you … it’s a favor. If you appreciate the female form and frilly underwear … you’re a pervert. If you don’t … you’re gay.

If you like a woman to shave her legs and keep in shape … you’re sexist. If you don’t … you’re unromantic. If you try to keep yourself in shape … you’re vain. If you don’t … you’re a slob. If you buy her flowers … you’re after something. If you don’t … you’re not thoughtful. If you’re proud of your achievements … you’re full of yourself. If you don’t … you’re not ambitious. If she has a headache … she’s tired. If you have a headache … you don’t love her anymore. If you want it too often … you’re oversexed. If you don’t … there must be someone else.

So: Why do men die first? Because they want to.

Wisdom lost through the ages

There are always outside influences that you feel you simply cannot control. It is how one reacts to these circumstances that determine the final outcome. It is these choices that determine our success or failure. Everything happens for a reason. Seemingly on a physical level we don’t seem to be able to control our reality, however on some subconscious level, we choose to participate in every single event that comes our way. We may not be aware of it, but that is how the universe works.

Four Words: Associate Pastor Don King.

The pastor is introduced with a Johnny Carson style “Heeeeere’s Sparky.”

Just before the sermon, cups of strong black coffee are distributed
along the pews.

The minister falls asleep while delivering his own sermon.

The ushers passing around the offering basket are wearing ski masks.

The band for the services has a tip jar on the loudspeaker and all the
songs are about money.

They have a volunteer blood drive in the morning service – that is to
be used for some vague purpose in the evening service.

The Bible they use is the Dr. Seuss version.

The Choir wears black leather robes.

They have Karaoke worship time.

The sanctuary has only entrances, no “exits”!

The ushers look mysteriously like “Men in Black”! (Yes,

The offering plate has been passed three times and the
sermon hasn’t even begun yet.

The people in the pew next to you brought a sack lunch.

What is meant by the separation of church and state?

George Washington had a high disdain for profanity and alcohol and chastised his officers repeatedly for not only their use of it , but also demanded it not be used by the foot soldiers as well.

He had a deep feeling of reverence and a desire to preserve the sanctity of Jesus. As is obvious in his General Orders of July 29th, 1779.

“Many and pointed orders were issued against that unmeaning and abominable custom of swearing . Not withstanding which, with much regret the General observes that it prevails, if possible more than ever: His feelings are continuously wounded by the oaths and Imprecations of the officers whenever he is in hearing distance of them.

a lutheran church against a sunny blue sky.

What is meant by the separation of church and state?

The day after Congress adopted the first amendment, they sent a message to George Washington. They asked him to declare a day of Thanksgiving to God.

Congress wanted to show America’s appreciation for the opportunity to create a new government in peace and tranquility.

The founders did not intend for God to be separate from our official acts. The founders just did not want a national denomination, such as in England.

They did not want an established church, an established church would take away religious liberty.

They did not want an established church that could force people to worship against their will or support it with private tax dollars.

Many say the founding fathers didn’t believe in God and weren’t Christian. They even go on to say that George Washington wasn’t a Christian and never went to church and never prayed.

This is completely wrong. In the early days of the United States, the whole of society centered around the local church. Most of the early pioneers attended church regularly or semi-regularly. Practically all our early schools were church sponsored, thus the children’s education was based on religion, as was George Washington.

The Difference Between Religion and Spirituality

Art Prints

I think this pretty much says it all.

Many will dispute this, but the world is a better place because of religion. It gives most people something of value to hang onto, and a leader to look up to. However, in the end, we all must develop our own story, our own spirituality. We each perceive God in a different manner. It is up to each and every one of us to find God or a Supreme Being or Intelligence in our own time and our own way.

Only then can we become the spiritual beings we were meant to be.

A journey of spiritual discovery

A Bashful Country Boy goes on Walkabout.
A Walkabout refers to a rite of passage during which male Australian Aborigines would undergo a journey during adolescence and live in the outback for a period as long as six months.
In this practice they would trace the paths, or song paths, that their ancestors took, and imitate, in a fashion, their heroic deeds.
Merriam-Webster, however, identifies the noun as a 1908 coinage referring to “a short period of wandering bush life engaged in by an Australian Aborigine as an occasional interruption of regular work”, with the only mention of “spiritual journey” coming in a usage example from a latter-day travel writer.
To white employers, this urge to depart without notice(and reappear just as suddenly) was seen as something inherent in the Aboriginal nature, but the reasons may be more mundane: workers who wanted or needed to attend a ceremony or visit relatives did not accept employers’ control over such matters (especially since permission was generally hard to get).

Is America Still Worthy of the Respect The Rest of the World Wants to Give Us?

July 4th, 1776 is one of the most important  days in human history. The signing of the American   Declaration of Independence, one of the most precious documents since the beginning of time ushered in a new Era in the history of man.

Never before had a nation been created where mankind could worship, believe, and act as he so desired as long as he didn’t infringe upon the rights of others.

As Americans, we sometimes forget how important this is and how much people from across the globe look up to us because of what we have done to preserve freedom over the centuries.

I never thought about it much until  three separate instances almost twenty years apart solidified this in my mind.

Photography Prints

The first incident came about several years ago while traveling in the outback of Australia. We had been in the bush for over three weeks. After that amount of time, with little contact to the outside world, we had forgotten what day it was. Time really didn’t matter, one day just became the next.

We drove into the small town of Daly Waters in the Northern Territory about two in the afternoon. As we entered the tiny village I noticed an old C-47 aircraft parked on a deserted airstrip. I hardly noticed the aircraft had U.S. markings. Our destination was the tiny pub in the center of town. Daly Waters, with a population of seventeen saw over a hundred percent increase in population when we arrived, our bus carried twenty-four weary travelers.

Entering the pub, it was apparent there was a party going on. This was interesting, I knew it wasn’t the weekend yet, we were to be in Darwin on Saturday and since we weren’t in Darwin, it couldn’t be the weekend.

Asking someone why they were partying, they said they were celebrating the 4th of July. We asked why they  were celebrating an American holiday. A loyal world two veteran promptly replied.”We just appreciate what the yanks did for us during ww2. We were attacked by the Japanese and if it wasn’t for the Americans, Australia would have fallen”. I never realized.

The second event came about while we were cruising on an Italian cruise ship in November of 2014. The ship had over 2,700 passengers on board and probably less than 20% were Americans. It was unusual  to even hear English spoken. The night before our 2014 election the theater theme was Simply Italian. All the beautiful Italian songs were sung. Near the end of the program, the vocalist began singing our national anthem.

People began to stand and sing, placing their hands over their heart.

I looked around, everyone in the audience were standing. As the anthem came to an end America was given at least a two-minute standing ovation.

The third such instance took place just a few months later. I occasionally  shuttle people to the local airports. During one such ride, I received a call asking if I would pick up someone at the Tampa airport that forgot to make a reservation. The car I was driving didn’t have any airport  stickers so it would be risky, the airport police frown upon this sort of activity.

Deciding I didn’t want this family stranded at the airport I decided to take a chance and pick them up.

I would just try and be incognito, stop at the curb, pick them up and be on my way before anyone saw me.

The plan was working  perfectly. They were in the car, luggage in the trunk and we are on the way.

Only problem. The trunk won’t stay latched. My cover is blown the curb side is jammed with people and with each closing more and more people are noticing the commotion.

A rather tall gentleman stepped forward and offered to duct tape my trunk shut. He wants to  tape the trunk of  a Lincoln Towncar shut with duct tape?

Thinking it wouldn’t work I said,  “Sure, try it”. As he began taping my passenger asked him where he was from as he had an accent. He replied Denmark.

Now wait, who flies from Denmark to Tampa with duct tape in their pocket. Is that legal? What does the TSA say about that?

The tape worked and as we started to pull away my passenger asked him what we owed him for helping. His response. Nothing, it’s the least I can do after the United States bailed us out of two world wars.

Never saw that coming!

In spite of what we are often told by the media and those who would want to destroy our country and turn it into a socialist nightmare, the United States is still that new Jerusalem, that shining city on the hill that most look to for guidance and leadership.

We currently see what happens to the world condition when America shirks its duty and let’s evil reign over the land.

We have a responsibility  to the rest of our world citizens, there isn’t any other country that can do it. It is the price we pay for living in the greatest country ever known to mankind. We sometimes overreach, but we are the world’s police force.

The rewards are great, and the consequences are disastrous if we fail in our mission.

In light of everything that has happened in our country and the ways we have abandoned people in the middle east after we had started a war and then left before it was over, we have supported and aided our own enemies and the enemies of freedom, after the last seven years of a disastrous foreign policy, do we still deserve their respect?

Wisdom lost through the ages

I believe there is some sort of “universal common sense”. In other words, events evolve according to a natural order, and certain rules apply that cannot be changed. These are God’s laws or the natural order of things. For example, if you live by a high set of moral standards, your life will naturally be better than if your life is filled with drugs, alcohol, and otherwise bad behavior. Develop a good financial plan and financial rewards will come to pass. Break these universal (God’s) laws and disaster will follow.
Living by God’s Law doesn’t guarantee a so-called perfect life, but life will be better, and easier than if the Laws of Nature are completely ignored and you wander through life with no plan.

WHAT IF FOOD WAS DIRTY AND SEX WAS CLEAN?

What If Food Was Dirty And Sex Was Clean?

When you think of it, there are only two things you need to make people. You got to have sex. You got to have food. That’s it. You don’t need clothing, shelter, or TV. Okay, maybe TV, but otherwise, it’s sex and food. But for some reason, sex is “dirty”. Maybe God was a Republican. Somebody said, “All right, you want to propagate, go ahead, but only late at night, with all the doors closed, the lights off, the man on top — once a week, and that’s it.”

RECORD YOUR PRECIOUS MOMENTS.

But not only can you eat the charred decaying flesh of other major mammals, you can do it in broad daylight and invite all your friends to watch: “Hey, Chuck, why don’t you come over on Sunday? We’re going to kill a pig, cut him up, burn him, and eat him. Bring the kids. We’ll have a hell of a time.”

What if they had been switched around? What if, through a simple twist of fate, sex was clean but food was dirty? Our entire culture would change. Food would become a four-letter word.

When people got angry at you, they’d yell out “Oh yeah? Well, food you. Suck cheese you Popsicle slurper.”

Punks in passing cars would flip you the fork.

Flashers would have pizzas strapped to their chests. “Ohmigod. It’s a pepperoni.”

Locker room talk would change. “Hey, man, how’d you do this weekend?” “Two burgers and a bag of fries. Crinkle cut.” “Ooooohhhhhhh, sweet!

Garlic would be illegal in most Southern states.

Supermarkets would check I.D.’s and charge admission to the poultry section.

Frederick’s of Hollywood would feature peekaboo napkins and day-of-the-week paper plates.

Foreplay would be listed as a menu selection.

Vice squads would conduct raids on backyard barbecues. “All right, put down your meat. Just back away from the buns, mister.”

Vegetarians would be prohibited from becoming teachers and a lot of them would move to the Bay Area.

Hookers would become cooks. You’d be accosted on street corners by plump ladies in day-Glo aprons. “Hey, big boy, looking for a hot meal? Wanna crack some crab?”

Fudamentalist Christians would make meat and potatoes a religious tenet.

Many sexual positions would be found to be carcinogenic.

Parents would tell their children not to play with their food or they’ll go blind.

And most of all…

Kids would remember the first time their mother caught them marinating.

There has been much debate over the years about what the founding fathers meant about the separation of church and state. In recent times there has been much disinformation about how they actually believed, especially George Washington. In this short Ebook the author tries to explain how they actually felt.

It wasn’t for me. It did seem there was a lot of violence in it. I do know from what I have read of Sharia Law, it is not compatible with our sacred documents, The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence and our U.S. Constitution. From what I’ve seen, you could not be loyal to both. I’m sure there are good people of the Islamic faith as there are of every faith and I have met some, however, there are a lot of angry young men also.

My wife’s niece dated an Arab once, but that’s another story. I do feel sorry of the Muslims who are trying to do the right thing. They have a hard road ahead of them. However, due to our lax immigration policies, porous borders, and policies of our government we have hundreds of terrorists in our country just like the one’s who brutalized San Bernardino. The townspeople accepted them, even gave them a baby shower and what happened in return? They were murdered in cold blood.

Like it or not, we are in a holy war, there are hundreds of Islamic terrorists, as well as other evil souls, amongst us. It’s time to get our heads out of the sand and wake up to reality. I don’t like it, it’s not the way I wanted to spend my senior years but reality is reality.

Many began coming here 30 years ago, blended in and then converted to terror. They had a master plan to slowly integrate into society unnoticed.

It is impossible to vet them, many purposely keep their noses clean to avoid detection, and in the case of many middle eastern countries, there is no data base to check to see if they are people of ill repute.

We also have many so-called home grown terrorists, many of whom have gone to the middle east, received training and returned and are silently waiting to strike terror into the hearts of their countrymen.

I’m not worried for me personally, I have a pretty good internal guidance system that for the most part guides me away from danger. (When I listen.) I am fearful for my country and my way of life. We live in a special country, like no other, and we are in danger of losing what millions have fought and died for. We are living in the shining city on the hill. We can’t let anyone mess it up for us. Be ever vigilant. This will happen many more times.

Wisdom lost through the ages

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world, When looking back in history, I soon discovered this has always been a problem, Benjamin Franklin once said, ”Of all the senses, common sense seems to be the one that is used the least.” As obvious as it may seem, many seem to be totally oblivious to it. Most, if not all of the problems the world faces today could be solved if people would just sit back and think about what would seem to be the most obvious and simple solution to any issue. Often times people tend to overcomplicate the issues. I often think back to what my parents and grandparents believed and said, at the time I thought they were totally out of their mind and ignored it. I now wish I would have listened and followed their advice. It is now evident they were a lot smarter than we gave them credit for. Many times, in today’s world, the schools and universities can no longer be counted on to teach truth and values that will guide someone through life.
