Praise the Lord

Art Prints

There was a little old lady, who every morning. stepped onto
her front porch, raised her arms to the sky, and shouted:
“PRAISE THE LORD!”

One day an atheist moved into the house next door. He
became irritated at the little old lady. Everymorning he’d
step onto his front porch after her and yell:
“THERE IS NO LORD!”

Time passed with the two of them carrying on this way
every day. One morning, in the middle of winter, the little
old lady stepped onto her front porch and shouted:
“PRAISE THE LORD! Please Lord, I have no food and I
am starving, provide for me, oh Lord!

The next morning she stepped onto her porch and
there were two huge bags of groceries sitting there.
“PRAISE THE LORD!” she cried out. “HE HAS PROVIDED
GROCERIES FOR ME!”

The atheist neighbor jumped out of the hedges and shouted:
“THERE IS NO LORD. I BOUGHT THOSE GROCERIES!!”

The little old lady threw her arms into the air and shouted:
“PRAISE THE LORD! HE HAS PROVIDED ME WITH
GROCERIES AND MADE THE DEVIL PAY FOR THEM!

church and state

There has been much debate over the years about what the founding fathers meant about the separation of church and state. In recent times there has been much disinformation about how they actually believed, especially George Washington. In this short Ebook the author tries to explain how they actually felt.

Midgley Bridge : Sedona Arizona

Art Prints

Located on the 89A highway leading into town from the north, Midgley Bridge has a nice viewpoint of Oak Creek and its valley  below, but also provides a car park area to access a few trails.

You will need a permit to park here but you can buy a permit from a machine in the car park. You can get some great pictures of the surrounding red rocks from the car park

A few steps down from the car park will take you to a viewing area with guardrails from which you can admire the view of the river and valley leading into town.

The bridge itself isn’t that photogenic, being a simple iron arch but I can imagine it being quite fun to bungee jump from!

Cathedral Rock Sedona Arizona

Photography Prints

Cathedral Rock , often seen in western movies of old, is one of the four major vortex’s in the area.

There are several energy centers, or vortexes of subtle energy, located in the Sedona area. (In Sedona, the energy centers are referred to as vortexes rather than vortices.)  The energy from these vortexes saturates the whole area in and around Sedona, and can be noticed in a subtle but general way anywhere around town.  If you actually go to one of the vortex sites, which is where the energy is strongest, it can be a very uplifting experience.  The energy you take in at one of these energy centers can stay with you and affect you positively for days afterwards.

This is a feminine vortex.

The Feminine Side can be viewed as being on a scale that has goodness at the high end, and the opposite, which is badness or evil, at the low end. In contrast to the masculine side, which strengthens the ability to stand up for your own rights, the feminine side strengthens the ability to allow others their rights and not interfere with those rights. The energy at this vortex strengthens the things you normally think of as feminine, such as kindness, compassion, patience, and the ability to let others need you and depend on you. And it strengthens the ability to anticipate the impact of your actions before you act, which is what considerateness is all about.

reality

I have found over the years that there is no such thing as reality, it is only how we perceive it. Each of us may have a different view of it because of our different beliefs and experiences. Two individuals can be sitting side by side, looking at the same event and “see” two entirely different outcomes based on their individual perceptions.

Making It Through Whatever Comes

Written by; Gary Wonning

We can make it through whatever comes next.

It’s all about turning a curse into a blessing. We are all thrown a curve occasionally. We have our  life all planned out, and then something unexpected comes along to  throw a monkey wrench into the works.

These challenges can often propel us to new heights of understanding. Many times we are headed down the wrong path, the path we have chosen isn’t always the best for us. The obstacle can be a signal we need to change direction. To continue on would be futile and possibly cause us great hardship.

It is at these times we need to sit back and analyze what is going on, and decide the best course of action. Then after we experience the growth we need the doors will open to a new future with more possibilities than we previously could have imagined.

The darkest moments can lead us to the brightest  place.

We can’t give up, no matter how dark things seem or impossible we keep going. The best we can do is to just let the universe, or God take over and let him run things. He knows best.

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world,
I often think back to what my parents and grandparents believed and said, at the time I thought they were totally out of their mind and ignored it. I now wish I would have listened and followed their advice more often.
It is in this light I have decided to publish some of my random thoughts based on the views of our ancestors.

They’re On The Launch Pad — Start Counting Down
The following newspaper article appeared in Florida Today on November 20, 1996, when I still worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory:

Activists Vow to Stop 1997 Cassini Launch
By Todd Halvorson

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Anti-nuclear activists pledged Tuesday to wade across alligator-infested swamps and parachute onto a launch pad to stop the planned launch next year of a NASA plutonium-powered spacecraft….

Very shortly thereafter, the following “advertisement” circulated throughout NASA’s e-mail system:

WANTED TO BUY: 10,000 alligators. No reasonable offer refused. Transportation costs negotiable.

Lying at the base of the Colorado Plateau, Sedona is one of the most beautiful and mystical areas on the planet. Many deem it more beautiful and spectacular than the Grand Canyon.

Discovered by Europeans in the early 1900s, the town was named after the wife of Theodore Carlton Schnebly. Many view it as an area of great spiritual value, as did the American Indians.

Bell Rock, one of the most famous landmarks on the planet, marks the entrance to Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona when traveling on highway 179.

It is the most powerful vortex in the area and many who visit it have encountered many strange events. Many encounter extraterrestrials from other worlds and realms, and many experience past life  events for the first time in their life.

Mayan culture
It doesn’t take long to discover that Belize is a land of contrasts. From the poverty and disarray of the cities to the quiet countryside, many differences are soon found. With poverty and crime running rampant in cities such as Belize City and Belmopan, the traveler has to be constantly aware of his surroundings and protect whatever is being carried. Remember, that camera hanging around your neck is worth more than the average Belizean earns in a year. All that aside, the Mayan people are wonderfully warm people many of whom go out of their way to please visitors. Traveling into the countryside one discovers thatch roof homes with no doors or windows. Because of the warm climate , they can live comfortably all year with a gentle breeze flowing through the open windows and doors. I was struck with the concept that although no utility lines were visible, a lot of homes had a satellite dish in the front yard.
Available in both hard copy and ebook format.

Nature Finds a Way

Photography Prints

Written by :Gary Wonning
As is human nature, we are often in a hurry to accomplish a certain task. In this day of instant gratification, we tend to always want everything right now.
We have become so accustomed to our cell phones, computers and other modern devices giving us instant gratification, that  we have forgotten that most of the really important things in life take time, we don’t get results instantly.
Most of the things that are really important in our life we need to work at for a time. We can’t rush Mother Nature or God. The things we want or need in life will come to us at the proper time and place.
By allowing some time for our wishes to come true, it gives the universe time to sort out what is best for us, and it also gives us, the individual, time to think, and contemplate what this would mean. Sometimes the best prayers are the ones that are unanswered.

Cat For Sale

Cat For Sale

A famous art collector is walking through the city when he notices a mangy cat lapping milk from a saucer in the doorway of a store and he does a double take.

He knows that the saucer is extremely old and very valuable, so he walks casually into the store and offers to buy the cat for two dollars. The store owner replies “I’m sorry, but the cat isn’t for sale. The collector says “Please, I need a hungry cat around the house to catch mice. I’ll pay you twenty dollars for that cat.” And the owner says “Sold,” and hands over the cat.

The collector continues, “Hey, for the twenty bucks I wonder if you could throw in that old saucer. The cat’s used to it and it’ll save me from having to get a dish.”

And the owner says, “Sorry buddy, but that’s my lucky saucer. So far this week I’ve sold sixty-eight cats.”

Courthouse Butte

Art Prints

 Courthouse Butte
Located next to Bell Rock in the Village of Oak Creek, Courthouse Butte is often ignored. According to local legend, nearby Cathedral Rock  was supposed to be called Courthouse Butte, and Courthouse Butte was supposed to be called Church Rock, because of its close proximity to Bell Rock and its church bell symmetry. However a mapmaker in the 1800’s mislabeled the formations and the names became part of history. However, there are no mistakes in life, or coincidences, Courthouse Butte is appropriately named.
It has become an area where people come to deal with past transgressions and forgive themselves of past deeds.
However this fabulous rock formation got its name, it is one Sedona landscape point of interest you won’t want to miss.
