You Can't Take it with You

You Can’t Take it With You

When Bill Clinton was on his deathbed, he told his most trusted
aide that, having managed to thwart all the rest of the rules in life,
he had figured out how to “take it with him” after death.

He instructed his aide to withdraw $5 million cash from his
secret account and put it in two suitcases in the attic above his bed so
his soul could grab them as it departed.

The next day, after Bill died, Hillary went into the attic with the aide to see if the cash-filled suitcases were still there.

No surprise, they were there, still stuffed with cash.

“I could have told him,” Hillary said to the aide, “that you should have put them in the basement.”

alcohol

In today’s world, many resort to abusing drugs and alcohol, why are so many becoming addicted and not only destroying their lives but the lives of others around them as well?

Learn From the Past , Live in the Now.

We often get caught up in daily living and forget our mission here on earth. We all have incidents in our past that can control our future and how we deal with present day events.

When as a child we get burned by touching a hot stove, we learn to never touch a hot stove again, this becomes a self preservation action. In most instances, this is a good thing, however when carried to the extreme, it can have life limiting consequences.

The Future
Many people after having been burned would never go near a stove again. The lesson to be learned is to be careful, not avoid the situation entirely. To do so would be counterproductive and not in our best interest. Life doesn’t come with a manual, we learn as we go, taking our personal experiences along with that of others and fashioning a better life for not only ourselves but others as well.

To live a better life, we need to each learn from the past, to appreciate the past, but to live now. It isn’t so much a lifestyle, as a living style. We all have a past with certain events that took place we would sooner forget about.

The key is not to forget about them, but learn from them. Not necessarily to dwell on them, but to understand why a certain situation came aboutin our life and what we can learn from it. We attract life situations to us to assist us in our daily evolution from what we were to what we can become.

Whatever we encounter, we have attracted to us, we can blame no one. It is our opportunity to grow spiritually. Many say that life is unfair, however, as unlikely as that may seem, judging as to the many obstacles some people face, it is true.

The fact is, the individuals who face the most challenges in life are the most blessed, they are being given many more opportunities to improve their life and move past the karma they bring from previous existences.

It may not seem like it at the time, but these people, if the lessons are learned correctly will have the opportunity to become more enlightened than they would have ever thought possible. In the process, they would never change the challenges they faced in life with anyone.

Whatever challenges we face in life, we have created them ourselves, and dealing with them in a positive way can only be a benefit to ourselves and the people around us.

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world, When looking back in history, I soon discovered this has always been a problem, Benjamin Franklin once said, ”Of all the senses, common sense seems to be the one that is used the least.” As obvious as it may seem, many seem to be totally oblivious to it. Most, if not all of the problems the world faces today could be solved if people would just sit back and think about what would seem to be the most obvious and simple solution to any issue. Often times people tend to overcomplicate the issues. I often think back to what my parents and grandparents believed and said, at the time I thought they were totally out of their mind and ignored it. I now wish I would have listened and followed their advice. It is now evident they were a lot smarter than we gave them credit for. Many times, in today’s world, the schools and universities can no longer be counted on to teach truth and values that will guide someone through life.

Thomas Jefferson, as well as all of the founding fathers believed our rights come from God, not from government. We give the government rights , they only have the right to do what we give them permission to do.

It is time to return to that philosophy, one either believes in God , or they believe in government , which do you believe in?

Day 6: 50 Year Class Reunion

The big day has arrived! This was one of the reasons for traveling north at this particular time. It has been 50 years since I have seen some of my fellow classmates and at least 20 since I had seen any of them. Wonder if they have changed any?

At least we will be arriving in style, the rental car agency had given us a Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck with a Sirius radio to drive . Nothing like driving to your 50 year reunion through corn fields  in a pick-up playing 50s music. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Arriving at the school for the graduation ceremonies , we were some of the first ones to arrive. As we were to be the honored class at this year’s graduation, we would be sitting directly behind the graduates. Good, maybe I will be able to determine who everyone is if I see them one at a time.

Jac-Cen-Del 1962 graduates

Entering the front door I’m greeted by a classmate, Sharon , that was easy, maybe this won’t be so hard after all. Things are going pretty well ,so far there are only a couple of people I don’t  recognize and I can fake it until I figure out who they are.

It’s interesting looking at all the memorabilia from that era. Letter jackets, photos, and believe it or not, our class was included in an article in National Geographic. In the article there is a photo  of our classmates standing in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

We were given a guided tour of the school, some remodeling as well as an addition has been added.Much has changed over the years, however many areas of the school is just like it was then ,only with a new coat of paint, or several coats , it has been 50 years.

I remember the sports trophy case back then , we were a new school so there were only a couple of trophies displayed, in the years that followed the basketball team has excelled, there are now two and a half walls filled with trophies from various basketball and sporting events, including a state basketball championship, quite a distinction in Indiana!

The school is also ranked in the top ten academically with several students ranked in the top two or three in their field, quite an accomplishment for a school where the average class size is somewhere around 80.

It was nearly time for the commencement to begin and since we were the honored class it was time for us to gather in the gymnasium. So, this is where everyone is, now comes the test, I see several classmates I don’t know.

This brings back memories, this gymnasium has seen many heated contests , the walls are filled with banners from basketball championships. Man the fun we had in here! Basketball was and still is the heartbeat of Indiana.

Listening to the the several speakers, I couldn’t help but remember the good times we all had at J-C-D. We were a class that always seemed to get along, I can’t remember any major contention between any of us, and there still isn’t. We had fun, didn’t destroy anyone else’s property and respected everyone’s opinion, isn’t that the way it should be?

Next on the agenda was the actual reunion itself, this year it would be at the Grub Company , a popular restaurant in town. Now is when the fun begins, several classmates are here that weren’t at the graduation, and there are a few I haven’t seen in fifty years.

This is where I lose my coolness, suddenly four people in a row approach me that I have no idea who they are. I can recognize them by looking into their eyes and their mannerisms are familiar, but their name completely escapes me. Luckily two of my high school buddies are nearby and they were able to identify them for me. Of course for the most part I faked it until I could ask for the name  in private. I’m going to start going to more of these, I hate getting out of touch like this.

After a delicious chicken dinner with all the fixin’s and some catching up, the evening came to an end,  can’t wait for another five years to roll around so we can do this again.

The Shoe Box

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had
shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no
secrets from each other — except that the little old woman had a
shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband
never to open or ask her about.

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but
one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would
not recover.

In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the
shoe box and took it to his wife’s bedside. She agreed that it was time
that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found
two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling $95,000!

He asked her about the contents.

“When we were to be married,” she said, “my grandmother told me the
secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I
ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.”

The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears: Only two
precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two
times in all those years of living and loving!

He almost burst with happiness. “Honey,” he said, “that explains the
doll, but what about all of this money? Where did it come from?

“Oh,” she said. “That’s the money I made from selling the dolls.”

Why Do We Die?

Your favorite PARANORMAL online store

In today’s world it is normally assumed the average person will live to be about eighty years of age. Because of modern medicine and lifestyle changes, our life span has risen tremendously over the last several years.

Many of the illness of the past no longer affect us, smallpox, polio, tuberculosis, and many other diseases are no longer a factor in most peoples live. For the most part, women no longer die during childbirth, and because of safer work  environments, many are no longer killed due to work related accidents.

All of these factors have lead to a more enjoyable and longer lifespan for the average human being. But my question is, why do we die at all?

Scientific evidence has proven our body rebuilds itself at least every seven years. Many organs and cells, such as the stomach replace themselves much more often than that. The stomach, for example, replaces itself every four months. If it didn’t the large amount of acid in the stomach required to digest the food we eat would destroy it in little or no
time.

If our cells replace themselves this quickly, then why do we ever die? It only makes sense that if every cell in our body is continuously renewing itself we should live forever, nothing in our body is over seven years old.

There is a fly in the ointment  for a couple of reasons, our cells retain a memory from the previous cell, it remembers the pain or injury that was brought to the particular part of the body, thus the new cell takes on the identity of the former cell and continues on the path of destruction.

Also, death has become a natural part of life, gone are the days of Methuselah and other biblical characters who seemed to live forever. We all assume we are going to die after a certain amount of time spent on this plane of existence.

Our subconscious mind or super mind only obeys the commands we give it, thus our subconscious believes we need to die after a certain period of time spent on this planet. We are continuously sending it messages concerning our health and other  beliefs we may have. Thus it becomes ingrained in our subconscious what we believe should occur in our lives.

If we would want to live forever, we would need to consciously train our subconscious mind  to the possibility  of living forever, that it would be a certainty and would be the expected outcome. As a result our bodies would never age and we could live forever or as long as we wanted, enjoying perfect health as we traveled along life’s path.

After thousands of years of believing to the contrary, it would probably take some evolving to make this come about. But perhaps in some far off future we will learn to live forever, but is that what we really want?

Enlightenment

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race, what happens after death, the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms, if they do exist. There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric sciences claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus we are each a part of God, thus we are God! This book is a brief account of my search for my own truth as I know it today, everything stated actually happened, according to my own perception. It has been an exciting search, at times very frustrating, very rewarding, and above all, very fulfilling. My main purpose in writing this book is to show that anyone, even a bashful unfamous country boy can have these awakenings, you don’t have to be rich or well-known to find your connection to Divine Source.

Thomas Jefferson: God

Many times people on the left try to tell us the founding fathers didn’t believe in God and often misquote the Declaration of Independence when they  tell us we have freedom from religion. The manuscript actually teaches us we have freedom of religion. Big difference.

This photo was taken inside the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and clearly states Thomas Jefferson’s beliefs when it comes to God. A free people cannot and will not survive without a belief in God or a Supreme Being.
