Grand Turk : Masonic Lodge

Grand Turk, the largest of the Turk Islands host the capitol of the Turks Cockburn Town.First discovered by Columbus in 1492, Grand Turk is certainly one of the most remote islands in the Caribbean.

Cockburn Town Grand Turk Masonic Lodge

Being located as such, it demonstrates the far reaches of Masonry. Located on this tiny island with a beautiful view of the Caribbean Ocean , within walking distance of the plaque bearing the information that signifies the discovery of the island by Christopher Columbus in 1492, it is easy to comprehend the influence that Masonry has had in the world not only today but in the distant past.

It is rumored that Columbus himself was the last Knight’s Templar, the crusaders that protected the route the Christians took to visit the Holy Land during the middle ages.

The Comeback

The Comeback

A young couple drove several miles down a
country road,
not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an
argument, and neither wanted to concede their position.

As they passed a barnyard of mules and pigs, the
husband sarcastically asked, “Are they relatives of
yours?”

“Yes,” his wife replied. “I married into the
family.”

Who is Watching the Chickens?

Everyone in Washington and the media are pointing fingers these days
concerning who is to blame for the current state of our economy and our
world image.

There is plenty of blame to go around and no one
particular party or individual is solely to blame, however as usual the
ones doing most of the finger pointing are the one mostly to blame. As
someone told me ,when you point a finger at someone, there are four
fingers pointing directly back at yourself.

As far as the
current Wall Street crisis, two of Obama’s financial advisers  are
largely responsible for the mess in the mortgage industry. Mr. Raines,
one of these  advisers graciously received $90 million for his
expertise in bringing down Fannie Mae . Nearly all, if not all of the
main players involved, including  Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and others
are high ranking democrats. President Bush tried to fix this mess a few
years ago, but thanks to the left, and a few misguided Republicans,
nothing could get done. John McCain has been warning congress for
years, nobody listened.

Social Security has been in trouble for
years, congress has been stealing our money from the fund for years to
finance their own pork barrel spending, then they wonder why there is
no money there for us. Because of waste, corruption and greed, the
amount an individual receives after a lifetime of contributions, is a
small pittance compared to the amount that would be available if the
money was invested wisely. George W. Bush tried also to fix this, the
liberals told us that social security was sound and nothing needed to
be done. The truth is , they don’t want to hand over control of our
money to us, they think we aren’t intelligent enough to run our own
lives, and manage our finances. Their answer is always the same , raise taxes. That only gives congress more money to spend and actually makes
the problem worse.

Ditto for the health care problem we have,
our medical care needs to stay in the private sector, the left thinks
otherwise. Do we want the same people running our health care system
that run social security, teach our children in public schools, and
undermine our financial world with unsound practices. Practices that Obama thinks work? I don’t know about you, but I don’t!!!

My own intuition leads me to believe that Obama
exercises really poor judgment in choosing his consultants and
advisers. How can people that used such poor judgement in creating a
disaster, be expected to fix it?

As the Honorable Reverend Wright, Obama’s spiritual mentor, so eloquently stated, “The chickens  have come home to roost!” And If Obama is elected, we will have the fox guarding the hen house.

Your World and Your Attitude

Art Prints

Written by : Gary Wonning

Anyone who is slightly aware soon realizes how much one’s attitude affects their world. I have seen it happen constantly. Many times it has affected my life instantly, we can change our fate by changing our thoughts. In your day to day life , I’m sure each and every one of you can find instances of it also.

We each send out energy whether we realize it or not. Your attitude defines the energy you send out and how it affects those around you. The energy we send out returns to us in like manner. It can even affect innate objects such as your car or other situations around you. I even remember an instance where I started thinking I might have car trouble, instantly the oil light came on, realizing I was creating that situation, I began to contemplate my car running fine, the oil light went off immediately!

Once something similar to that occurs in your life , it isn’t hard to realize how much we do control our circumstances. To have positive people in our life, we must be positive, open, and welcoming. We push people and opportunity away when we are fearful, angry and unhappy.

As it is almost impossible to be positive every second of every day, sometimes it is best to withdraw for a while until the positive feelings return. No one can be Mary Poppins every minute of the day, I’m sure even she had a bad day occasionally. Many times it helps to just go out and do something we like, and meet people, taking our mind off our problems sometimes solves them immediately.

Every day we have a choice of how we are going to act or react, it is up to us as to what message we are going to send to the universe. When life isn’t going the way we want, developing a “fake until we make it” attitude will turn things around. Soon our attitude will change and we are on our way to an enlightening day.

We do create our own universe, every thing in our life we have created. If you want something in your life, you must focus on it, and put your intention behind it. When you focus on need, that is what you get. Put your positive thoughts in the oven and let them bake, and just like preparing a meal , some thoughts take other than others to be done. Let them manifest and become real. You will be the better for it.

reality

I have found over the years that there is no such thing as reality, it is only how we perceive it. Each of us may have a different view of it because of our different beliefs and experiences. Two individuals can be sitting side by side, looking at the same event and “see” two entirely different outcomes based on their individual perceptions

Instant Gratification

Today we live in a world of instant gratification. Every aspect of our lives changes on a dime, we no longer have to wait weeks and weeks for information, or take the time to go to the library. All we need to do is go to our computer or Ipod to find out any bit of information we want or need, instantly.

This has many positive sides to it. We have become addicted to getting everything we want in the blink of an eye. In many cases problems can be solved instantly, we can find directions to distant destinations by only checking our GPS on our cell phone, finding the best restaurant and calling for reservations while en-route. We can check out the weather forecast not only where we live or preside, but determine what clothes to pack for a faraway vacation instantly.

It has created in us a need and expectation that everything in our world can be solved with the blink of an eye and a fast internet connection. Wouldn’t it be nice if that were true? It may work out fine in the non-personal world of information, however there are no quick fixes when it comes to personal relationships. We cannot Google for a solution of problems with our mate or other members of our circle of friends or relatives.

There are no fast fixes , this arena still requires patience, understanding and a knowing that many issues aren’t and cannot be solved so quickly. In most cases it takes years or lifetimes to work through karma and issues from the past. Even problems on the national and world scene cannot be solved by running information through a computer.

Due to our being conditioned to believe everything can be solved instantly, many relationships are destroyed, both on a personal level and world level as well. Many people have little or no patience when it comes to solving problems, they give the particular problem fifteen minutes , at most, of their time, and if no solution is found , the problem is ignored and their attention diverts to a lesser distraction.

Many people develop a relationship through an on-line dating service, and if it doesn’t work out move on to someone else from the thousands of possibilities on the dating sites. I’m not saying that one should take the first cat out of the bag, however, because of the apparent surplus of likely candidates, people develop the attitude they are walking into a candy store and if they don’t like the candy by the front door, there is plenty more in the back.

However true this may be , and in many ways it is a good thing. People are no longer limited to finding someone in their own local area where the pickings may be slim. It leads many to believe that once they are in a relationship, there is no need to give it much attention, as if it doesn’t work out, there are plenty more fish in the sea. Thus they bail out, find someone new and begin the same path to destruction they just recently abandoned .

It doesn’t work in every relationship, but many times just hanging in there and working at it solves many of the issues, and one can live a happy and prosperous life without making life changing decisions .

Woman Overboard

Overboard

An elderly couple was on a cruise and it
was really stormy.
They were standing on the back of the boat watching the moon,
when a wave came up and washed the old woman overboard.

They searched for days and couldn’t find
her, so the captain
sent the old man back to shore with the promise that he would
notify him as soon as they found something.

Three weeks went by and finally the old
man got a fax from the
boat. It read: “Sir, sorry to inform you, we found your wife dead
at the bottom of the ocean. We hauled her up to the deck and
attached to her was an oyster and in it was a pearl worth
$50,000 .. . ..please advise”

The old man faxed back: “Send me the pearl
and re-bait the trap

Belize; Driving the Highways and By-Ways.

For the ultimate test of your driving skills , there is no place on earth like Belize. Although picturesque and filled with antiquities and monuments of the Mayan culture, the roads test one’s driving abilities and patience to the max.

The roads are narrow at best, with many still unpaved, full of potholes, and very rough and treacherous. Belize has a tremendous amount of rainfall every year, up to 180 inches in the southern part of the country. Combine that with the fact that many of the roads, even the major thoroughfares are clay dirt roads that are crowned in the middle so the water runs off easily, makes for interesting traveling.

While meeting another vehicle on such roads, it normally becomes a game of chicken as to which driver gets over farthest to their side of the road. Especially after a heavy rain, the road gets extremely slick and as a result getting over too far means sliding off into a ditch as deep as three feet.

This means an extremely long delay, in spite of the fact this happens quite often, no one in the country has a chain to be pulled out with. It boils down to waiting until enough people come along to make it possible to be pushed out onto the road so the journey can be resumed.

It was never a dull moment as we traveled the roads of Belize, the driver had to be constantly aware of the changing road conditions, and even then  we slid off the road a total of six times in two weeks, one time barely missing a school bus who wouldn’t get out of the middle of the road.

Even the South Hummingbird Highway, which connects the southern part of the country with the rest of the world is only a one lane dirt road, demanding extreme caution.

How to Achieve Perfection

Photography Prints

Throughout the ages, man has strived to be perfect. Many books and articles have been written on becoming perfect. Religions and fraternal organizations have been established , all in the pursuit of perfection. In spite of all of this , most people have no idea what perfection is.
Many say Jesus was perfect and we should follow his example, but what does that mean? By who’s standard of perfection do we follow, and was Jesus perfect. I’m sure in his time, many would disagree with the notion that Jesus was perfect.

Sphinx at Sunset Giza Egypt

His travels to India, Egypt, possibly Stone Henge and the new world would have many believe he was far from perfect. they would have been asking, why doesn’t this guy have a job, why the long hair? Who are these people he is hanging out with. Being of the Jewish faith many would have asked,”why isn’t he married? He needs to settle down and raise a family.” I’m sure Pontius Pilate and his gang of desperadoes didn’t think he was perfect.

YOUR ONLINE SUPERSTORE
Everyone has a different perspective of what perfection is. Look at the political arena, or the entertainment and sports industry, everyone has their favorite  team, candidate, or movie star, and each individual thinks his favorite is the perfect human being. It leads one to think that perfection is just a matter of perspective and no one can really be perfect.

This is a question I have been asking myself for years, what is perfection and how do we achieve it? It certainly has nothing to do with our personal appearance and often times not even our .actions have anything to do with it.

I have come to the conclusion that being perfect, although it does affect our actions and feelings towards others has nothing to do with our physical life as such, it is all about our connection with our God, or the God Source.

Jesus studied his whole life, and was in tune with his environment and the creator. Because of the knowledge he came in with, and his desire to know God, he became a student of life and  of Nature’s or God’s Laws, in this way he became perfect. He had a perfect connection with God. Because of this he was able to turn water into wine, walk on water, heal the sick and raise the dead.

As we can see from this, perfection has nothing to do with our appearance or social standing in life, it is all about our connection with the Supreme Being. Thankfully, this connection is available to all of us as Jesus said, “These things that I do, you shall do also.” As we study and grow, so can the kingdom of heaven be ours.

Enlightenment

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race, what happens after death, the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms, if they do exist. There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric sciences claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus we are each a part of God, thus we are God! This book is a brief account of my search for my own truth as I know it today, everything stated actually happened, according to my own perception. It has been an exciting search, at times very frustrating, very rewarding, and above all, very fulfilling. My main purpose in writing this book is to show that anyone, even a bashful unfamous country boy can have these awakenings, you don’t have to be rich or well-known to find your connection to Divine Source.

Available in both paperback and ebook format

Change your life

How do you design an exceptional life? Ultimately, life passes us in a flash, one day we wake up and wonder where our life went. Too many people instead of changing their lives, live the same year 90 times over.

How often have we talked about all the things we believe or
want, but deep down we are unwilling to integrate the qualities that
would attract them? We are all guilty, even the most successful among us. The only way to change our lives, is to change ourselves and our way of thinking, by doing so we attract the things into our life that make us happy. There are several guidelines that must be followed that enable us to focus on what we need to do in our life and not so much on what we want..

The first on the list, we need to be clear in what we want. If our thoughts and desires aren’t clear, how can the God Source know what to provide for us? Once you determine what it is that you want, make a  list , write every detail down , look at this list often and focus on it, add to it and imagine you already have it.

Once you have asked, be open to what the universe sends your way, many opportunities will be provided you to reach your objectives. Some times the first choice isn’t the best choice, if the opportunity isn’t for your highest good, wait, there will be more come your way. Just remain open and receptive, soon the choice you most desire will be presented to you. When you meditate always ask for “this or something better.”

Keep an open mind and be discriminating in your choices, observe, contemplate, and release  everything that comes your way that doesn’t serve your best interests. If the opportunity doesn’t serve your best interests, or light your fire, let it go. Your conscious mind doesn’t always realize what is best for you, sometimes there is something better n store for us than we can even dream about. Focus on your main objective rather than the goal, focus on what would make you happy, realize you deserve perfect happiness, only in that manner can you achieve what you most desire.

During these times, stay positive, any negativity will be interpreted by the universe as you not wanting what your are meditating on.Look forward with anticipation to the future, staying focused on the final outcome. Believe it in your heart, what the heart desires is what the heart receives. When  we expect the best, that is what the universe gives us, believe it will come to you effortlessly and easily, believe that failure is not an option.

And finally be honest with yourself, and grateful. Is this what your heart truly wants? Is this your hearts desire? Always listen to your feelings, your body and inner guidance will tell you what it wants and desires. Our body and mind want to live in perfect harmony, that is the natural order of things. Once you future has been given you, you own it, so contemplate how you want to spend the next years of your life. Once given , it is hard to change and can take quite some time .

Once your hearts desire has been given to you, be grateful.Just as when  we are grateful of a gift from a friend , the recipient wants to give more. The universe is no different.
