The Road Back to Faith

As we travel along life’s path, many times we inadvertently lose our way. Many times we develop new beliefs because of our changing life experiences, these beliefs should not change our core values but only enhance them.

If we aren’t careful, a supreme life test of our values can make us question what we believe in and create doubt where there should not be any. At this time, it is easy to slip into a period of self-doubt and negativity. Even if we have passed the test, the hardships endured in the mean time can make us feel like losers. Once that happens life can rapidly go down hill and our goals and wants seem to slowly slip away.
It is at this point in time one needs to re-evaluate our life and determine how fortunate we really have been to have undertaken that
learning experience.
Having experienced such a time, I am now the wiser and smarter. There are always events that will bring us back to the path. That in itself is a learning experience whereby much good can be gleaned.

After a few years of self-doubt as far as believing what I believed, I began to think it was time to again embrace what I knew to be true. One particular circumstance started me back on the path. During a visit to one of the ABC islands in the southern Caribbean, Curacao, events began to come into play that would again change my life. After visiting the oldest Jewish synagogue in the Americas, I happened by a store front displaying a simple sign, all it said was Jackie. One of the leaders of the group I was a part of was named Jackie, so I thought it would be cool to take a photo of the sign and give it to her. Not knowing there would be a part two of this saga, it sounded like a fun thing to do.

After contemplating my spiritual path for months, uncharacteristically I was working in my garage one afternoon when a lady pulled up on the street and motioned for me to come out to her car.  As I did, she got out of the car and asked if there were any houses for sale in the neighborhood, a conservation ensued whereby I discovered she was involved in the
esoteric community and had studied much spiritually.

I stated that I had not been involved in that sort of thing for years , but was thinking of resuming my  involvement. At this time she
introduced herself as Jackie. I immediately thought of the store sign in Curacao and realized it was time to get back in the game.

It was time to reestablish my faith and again believe in what had worked for me. Two obvious signs in this period of time was enough for me I didn’t need any more prodding, from past experience I knew what would come next, no need to delay.

Since that afternoon in the drive way, much has transpired and many challenges have come my way. Although much of what I believe is coming my way hasn’t happened yet, I have seen the need to strengthen my faith in able to allow it to transpire. The possibilities are there, all I need to do is stay positive and believe, regardless of the current circumstances, the final out come is in my hands.

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race,what happens after death,the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms, if they do exist. There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric sciences claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus we are each a part of God, thus we are God! This book is a brief account of my search for my own truth as I know it today, everything stated actually happened, according to my own perception. It has been an exciting search, at times very frustrating, very rewarding, and above all, very fulfilling. My main purpose in writing this book is to show that anyone, even a bashful unfamous country boy can have these awakenings, you don’t have to be rich or well-known to find your connection to Divine Source.

Tax Breaks for Sports Franchises

There
is often much discussion  as to whether or not sports franchises should
receive tax breaks and incentives for building a new  facility in a
particular city. Often times, and rightfully so, there is much
opposition to this concept.

Many
people believe that because sports figures receive huge salaries and
incentives for playing , the industry has plenty of money and doesn’t
need tax payer assistance.  Many believe that the fans should pay for
any new stadium as they are the ones who will be benefiting from it.
Most often the opinions vary depending on whether or not the individual
is a sports fan.

If
you look at a sports franchise as a business, which in today’s world,
that is the way it needs to be addressed, one begins to realize that
most states and municipalities give some sort of tax break for large
industries to locate in the area. Often times, the revenue received from
not only sports teams but industries as well, far out weigh the revenue
lost in tax dollars.

There
are many arguments both supporting and against this. Many people
believe no business or corporation should receive tax breaks or special
funding.  This idea of giving tax breaks for businesses was born in the
1970’s. Many companies were being regulated and taxed to death in the
northern states, mainly Michigan. Southern states began to realize they
could offer a better and more competitive business environment by their
already lower taxes and costs of doing business.

Soon
the idea caught on, and a competition arose as to which state could
give the better deal. It gained a lot of momentum and today it has
almost gotten out of hand. Looking back , this whole problem was only
created because local and state governments got greedy and kept killing
the goose that laid the golden egg.

The
idea of sports franchises receiving incentives for staying or moving to
a particular city sprang from this movement. Soon teams were demanding
new stadiums that weren’t needed, and huge tax incentives besides.

Things
are starting to turn around , in some instances , sports teams can no
longer hold a city hostage. there have been several examples where a
team threatened to move their franchise if a new stadium wasn’t built,
the city refused, and no other city could be found to fail into the
trap. As a result, the team stayed where they are and forced to play in a
facility that is barely 30 years old.

I,
myself am a huge sports fan, however, I believe that if the ancient Egyptians could build pyramids to last thousands of years,I think a
sports team should be able to suffer  through  the hardship of playing
in a facility that is only 30 years old. Maybe tax breaks are a good
idea, but let’s not waste our hard earned money building facilities we
really don’t need.

The wisdom of our ancestors

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world,
I often think back to what my parents and grandparents believed and said, at the time I thought they were totally out of their mind and ignored it. I now wish I would have listened and followed their advice more often.
It is in this light I have decided to publish some of my random thoughts based on the views of our ancestors

 

 

 

Tom Tom: Finding Your Way in Life

As we navigate our way down life’s path sometimes we need all the assistance we can muster up. This is true not only while on our spiritual path, but when we go on vacation or while traversing the highways and by-ways of our daily life.

At one time in the not too distant past, we had to rely on Rand McNally or AAA to safely guide us to our destination. I’ve found fumbling with maps and Trip Tics can not only be confusing but also not the safest way to journey down the nation’s roadways. Luckily, in today’s technical world there is a better way.

The Tom Tom has opened up a who new way to travel, now with the device firmly planted on our dashboard all that needs to be done is enter our destination into the little machine and directions, mileage, and time of arrival is instantly displayed to us in living color. Not only is it colorful, informative, and safe , but entertaining as well.

Regardless if you are traveling across town or across the world , be sure to include a Tom Tom or one of the many other GPS devices in you travel bag.

Hypnosis: A Way of Understanding Life

In today’s world many people are searching for meaning in their life and wondering what its all about. Many have questions that traditional religions and beliefs don’t seem to answer. Although one should never abandon their core beliefs entirely, there are times when an individual has to search” out of the box”.

During our lives we are constantly growing and evolving into a different being, research has shown that our bodies transform and every cell is replaced at least every seven years. along with that our mind is also morphing into an entirely different entity.

When this ceases to be a fact in our lives, we wither away and pass on to another reality. such is the nature of life.As we begin our search for meaning, many avenues of growth present themselves to assist in our learning, one such avenue is hypnosis.

Hypnosis is very effective in helping us reach new levels of understanding in our lives and reality. As it is only a controlled form of relaxation and meditation, there really is nothing to fear. One can awaken from a hypnotic state at any time, and under most circumstances it is more difficult staying under hypnosis than awakening to a more conscious state.

All hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis, no one can hypnotize you without your consent. Realizing that a hypnotist is only a facilitator should make it easier for the skeptic to enter into a trance. Once a few sessions are completed, it becomes easy for some one to enter this state on their own and receive guidance any time they like or need it. Once the channels are open and the art of meditation is learned, guidance can be readily available without even thinking about it.

Many of life’s issues can be resolved while under hypnosis by a trained hypnotist. Reaching the subconscious mind is a key factor in resolving many issues, not only of a physical nature, but an esoteric nature as well. Many times issues and problems we encounter in life have their roots many life times ago and keep recurring until we finally resolve them.

There are only two choices, resolve the issue and live a happier more fulfilling life or let the issue go unresolved and pass on to another existence whereby we are faced with the same problem until we finally decide to do something about it. No amount of medicine or medical treatment will  fix the issue until it is cured in our own mind. Once the subconscious mind resolves the issue it is no longer  a problem and it passes from our reality.

Global Warming and Climate Change

 

 

Many people on the political left today tend to blame all that is wrong with
the earth on human beings and their actions. Although we humans should
and do share some of the blame, many fail to realize all the good that
has come to mankind because of our endeavors.
Perhap the biggest arena of blame is in the arena of climate change , more
importantly , global warming. Despite that fact that much of the
information put forth on global warming has been disproved and proven
false, many still believe the earth is warming and the activities of
humans are to blame.

It was only thirty years ago scientists told us the earth was cooling and
we were in for a monumental ice age. The interesting part of this ,
thirty years ago the earth was cooling . The earth goes through warming
and cooling cycles approximately every 30 to 40 years. This is common
knowledge and something most of us were taught in elementary school.

Didn’t these scientists go to elementary school, is their memory that short
they can’t remember back thirty years or to their school years? Don’t
they realize how foolish they look when they make unfounded statements
such as these? And how about the media, do they ever think for
themselves, or are they just nonthinking drones who believe anything
they are told?

It would be pretty egotistical of us to think we as humans would have a
very large impact on the weather and climate of the planet earth. Any
one who has flown for a very long distance over the American west or
perhaps the Australian outback have to realize how vast this world is.
There is much more uninhabited land than we could ever populate or
pollute on a large scale.

The earth has unlimited resources,and although conservation is a good idea ,
if for no other reasons than economic, we can never use them up, new
sources of energy are discovered daily, large reserves of oil , even to
this day still remain unknown. The only thing limited on this planet is
man’s ability to  perceive this limitlessness of our resources.

Climate change is happening today, just as it has for eons in the past, there
is always constant change in our environment, this is nature’s way of
replenishing the very things we need and use daily, it is a natural
occurrence.

It isn’t hard to look for these changes that have occurred over time.In
the desert southwest, it is obvious much of the landscape at one time
was under water, watermarks are seen on the rocks. At an altitude of
4,500 feet beach sand can be found in Sedona Arizona. How did that get
there?

Mastodons have been discovered in Siberia with green vegetation still in their
stomachs. There is much evidence that Europe experienced not only a mini ice age but also temperatures in the middle ages were warmer than those experienced today. there were no SUV’s back then. I don’t think  the
cave men could build a camp fire large enough to warm the planet that
much.

I’m not sure why people want to blame everything on mankind, maybe they
have some sort of inferiority complex or a self destruction tendency,
but with all the evidence to the contrary, I find it hard to believe
anyone who says we are destroying the planet. Quite to the contrary, the
planet is capable of taking care of itself and will be here long after
we are gone.

Cruise: Photography

How often have you heard someone say that is almost impossible to get quality photographs while on a cruise, sightseeing with thousands of other tourists? The general consensus of opinion is that when cruising too much time is spent on board the ship and not enough quality time is spent in port and the time spent is not the most optimum time to photograph.

Even when traveling on land with a photo group, I have encountered days when we traveled all day and only managed to be able to shoot for maybe a half an hour. Even under the most idea circumstances a great deal of time can be spent traveling and positioning for that perfect shot.

While it is true most ships not only arrive in port well after sunrise but leave just as the sun is setting over the western horizon, the best times to photograph, this fact should not discourage you from getting good quality images .While you may not be in port during the times when the lighting would be the best,there are still plenty of opportunities to get excellent photos of the places and people you encounter.

Several ports now offer exclusive photo tours where photography and getting quality images is now the main concern. However ,if this kind of tour is not available, do not despair, there is still hope. The first objective is to  go on a tour that advertises itself as the “best of” where ever it is you are, this always includes some great observation sites to photograph  the best scenics available. Once there, take advantage of whatever ingenious and neglected points of view over looked by the ordinary tourist. Sometimes just walking a short distance from the rest of the group will lend itself to a fantastic and neglected vantage point.

When visiting a relatively safe destination, charter a private van, taking a few like minded people with you. Once people learn that a photo tour lends itself to finding quality spots most visitors never see, you won’t have any problem finding tag alongs to help make your trip safer and more enjoyable. Just keep in mind that going on a nonship sponsored tour means the ship won’t wait on you if you are late, so make double sure you are back in time for the sailing, or you will be getting some nice images of the airport while on you way to your next port of call.

As most of us, you will be traveling with your wife or significant other who probably could care less about those priceless images you are recording. Their main objective will be to find the unforgettable bargain  that no one else have ever found in  some exotic port. Just tag along and be supportive and appear highly interested, then at the last moment as your lovely wife is about to make the purchase of the century, duck out the door. This is your golden opportunity, go for it!

There are always great photo ops in every port I’ve ever been in , check out the old man sitting on the curb, how about the man sitting in the door way of a store? Maybe there are children playing in the street, or some old building with a unique design or door, maybe an interesting window or church. How about an interesting angle no one has ever seen. The opportunities are endless.
With a little ingenuity and patience those one of a kind images can be yours , it doesn’t matter what the circumstances. As you prepare for that next cruise, pack all your gear and enthusiasm you can get into that
suitcase. You’ll need it all.

Getting What you Want in Life

Your PARANORMAL Superstore

When you make your affirmations, what do you ask for?

Many times we use the wrong terminology when making affirmations and desires. This many times can backfire on us and delay one from creating our life goals. The universe will give us exactly what we pray for, that is why it is so important how we phrase our meditations.

While we are creating our future and destiny, it is only natural to ask for the things we want and need in our life. Keeping this in mind it is necessary to remember the universe gives us exactly what we focus on. If we focus on want and need, that is what we get. If you “want” something, that is what you get, “want”. If you “need” something, that is what you will receive.

I, myself, made the common mistake to ask for want when I prayed, continued to receive more “want” and wondered why. Why weren’t my affirmations being answered? They were. I received enough “want” to last several lifetimes. I still perceive it a little difficult to not want something, however, I think I have finally learned my lesson.

Wanting will not provide you anything but more want. To receive your blessings, the terminology has to be changed to “I Am.” I Am healthy, I Am wealthy, I have everything I desire. I am in a perfect relationship. Only by projecting the thought that you already have what you wish to receive will you be blessed with more of the same.

Every thought we have is actually a prayer, as the subconscious mind doesn’t distinguish between what we would consider prayer and our everyday thoughts. That is why it is so important to always think positive. The subconscious is our connection to universal consciousness and as such can only act on the messages it receives from our conscious mind. You need to paint a picture in your mind that you already have what you desire.

The subconscious mind or universal consciousness only reacts to abstract thinking, there are no shades of gray, only black and white. When you say you want something, that is what the subconscious thinks you wish for, it doesn’t comprehend the possibility of something in the future, only the want. The subconscious is into instant gratification.

Once the realization is made and our prayers change to “I Am”, it may take some time for our wishes to be granted as we still operate in linear time and thus believe that there is a time and place for everything, however [persistence will win out and in time you will finally be given your heart’s desire.

What the Founders knew: Faith enhances freedom

In today’s world there seems to be a lot of discussion concerning the youth and their lack of patriotism and knowledge of our country’s history and or past. There seems to be a feeling that they are unpatriotic and are letting the basic principles of freedom slip away. In many cases this is true. However, the same sentiments have been raised for generations.

It is common knowledge that over the years our country has changed tremendously, many of the values held by our ancestors no longer seem of importance. Especially today, with government acting the way it is, in  response to what so many people want, we have reached a critical point in our history. Today, far too many citizens and non citizens alike think government should provide for their every want and need. People feel they want security over freedom, many are afraid or unwilling to take a change and depend on their own ingenuity to provide a living for themselves and families. It seems easier for Uncle Sam to do it for them.

This trend began many years ago and in many ways is a by product of our own success.  Beginning after world war 2, many began working away from the farm. With this change came an opportunity to earn more money and gain benefits and vacations not previously available to everyone.

With it, came the labor unions which continuously gained new privileges for it’s members. This was well and good, the working man should share in the spoils of their labors. The down side is that people soon developed a sense of entitlement and dependence on the system. Much ingenuity and self reliance went out the window.

Not to be out done, elected government officials soon found this was an excellent way to gain votes, promise the people the world, make them dependent on government , and soon people would begin voting for the candidate who could give them the most pork. Soon the  thinking of the whole country changed. People began seeing the benefits of socialism without realizing the perils.

As a result, when someone expresses the values that made this country great, they are looked at as being extreme. What was extreme 40 years ago has become the norm. People just naturally assume they are entitled to whatever they think they need or desire. They now think government and business has an unlimited supply of money and it is theirs for the taking. Our present economic state is a direct result of this convoluted way of thinking.

Everyone has faith, the individuals who have no faith in God, put their faith in government. This is misguided and dangerous. Most elected officials have no loyalty to their constituents that goes beyond saying and doing what will get them re-elected. They could care less how their actions will affect their country past the next election cycle.

The founding fathers knew this, they put special safe guards in the constitution to protect our freedom of worship. Although they weren’t of a common faith, they all expressed the importance of faith in being free. Without faith there can be no freedom, and without freedom , there can be no expression of faith.

Faith is the adhesive force that holds our freedom together. Faith in a higher power, whatever that belief is. The founding fathers knew that power corrupts, many people  would fore sake their mother for the addictive forces of power.

Power corrupts, and without a belief in a power greater than ourselves, whom we are all accountable to, we soon sink into an abyss of hopelessness. When you put your trust in government or any entity other than the Supreme Architect of the Universe, you are only asking for much heartache and trouble.

Let’s hope not only the younger generation, but the rest of humanity as well, learn this lesson before it is too late.
